Bald Blair back for term two

11th May 2021

It’s hard to believe we are already in Week 4 of Term Two. Bald Blair Public School students returned to school on Tuesday 20th April very excited to start the new school term.
We have lots of learning activities planned throughout the term, with all the teachers and support staff very excited about the opportunities on offer for our students.
Our school attended the Finlayson Sports Day at Chandler Public School in April. This was our annual athletics carnival and was hotly contested between other small schools in our area. We also had 10 students represent Bald Blair at the PSSA Zone Cross Country in Armidale on Tuesday 4th May. Isabella Purvis and Taharn Masuk-Purvis have qualified for the regional cross-country in Coolah in June.
We are continuing our music program with Mrs Tanya Siddell and on Friday we had a visit from the New England Conservatorium of Music. We are also planning an overnight excursion to Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre towards the end of term, with a strong focus on learning about biology and ecosystems. Further details will be sent home to parents as they are finalised.
This week, our Year Three and Year Five students will sit the NAPLAN tests over three days. Good luck to all of our hard-working students.
Last week, we welcomed Sadie MacDougall and Willow Cruickshank to our Transition to Kindergarten program. This week, Jaidee Masuk-Purvis will join our program and we are very much looking forward to seeing their bright, smiling faces. Transition is held every Thursday, with expert early learning teachers providing a comprehensive learning program for our young students. Please contact the school on 6779 1578 if you would like to enrol your child.
