Community outreach

22nd Feb 2022

The National Recovery and Resilience Agency and Rotary Australia are bringing ‘one stop shops’ to rural and regional Australia to help affected by drought and other challenges. The events bring together all levels of government, charities, not-for-profit and agricultural organisations to support farmers and rural and regional communities living through the immediate and longer-term effects of drought.
The National Recovery and Resilience Agency (the Agency) works hand-in-hand with communities, all levels of government, charities and agricultural organisations to support farmers and rural and regional Australians living through the immediate and longer-term effects of bushfire drought and flood. Their aim is to ensure people and communities are given the support they need to be better prepared now and into the future.
The Agency, in conjunction with Rotary Australia, is conducting community outreach events to bring together community members and share with them important information about available drought support and how to access it.
Rotary will be distributing $500 vouchers to drought-affected households and conducting community well-being activities at the outreach events. The outreach events provide opportunities for face-to-face, confidential conversations with farmers and community members experiencing the impacts of drought.
The  Community Outreach Event is coming to Guyra this Friday February 25th to provide support and advice on the drought and other challenges. It is an excellent opportunity for farmers, families and rural communities to grab a sausage sandwich, catch up with friends and neighbours and find out what support is available during tough times.
Come down to the Guyra Memorial Hall between 10:00am – 2:00pm and say hello.
