Junior Soccer
The Under 6 Caspers played a great game against a very strong Easts team at home. The Caspers concentrated really hard on the skills they have been learning throughout the game.
Under 6 Phantoms hosted the Uralla Bears this weekend in Guyra and both teams had a lot of fun. Playing on a pretty heavy track the Phantoms got a bit tired but tried hard till the end, they chased well in defence and stopped a few goals. The team are working on their dribbling and kicking skills at training and it’s starting to show in the games. Great job phantoms!
The Under 7 Spooks had a great game against another strong TAS team. They played some great defence and are improving their ball skills each week.
Under 8 Goosebumps played a strong DK Ninja’s team. Guyra had a good first half just unlucky not to get a couple of goals. DK had a good second half and were too good for Guyra, Haidee, Stirling and Elinor had good games.
Under 12s Guyra took on an under strength TAS team this week at home. Right from the get go the team was on the attack with the opening goal coming inside the 1st minute of the game. This set the tone for a very strong team performance. Goal scorers this week and there was a lot. Peter 5, Jack 3, Oskar 3, Harry 2, Matthew 1, Cruz 1, Miles 1 and Chaise 1. End score 17-0. Score doesn’t reflect on how the team passed the ball around and played as a team. Well done to all this week.

Senior Soccer
Guyra 3rd grade hosted TAS this weekend and were looking to bounce back after a heavy loss last week.
The Caspers came out strong with Adam Litherland and Angus Shepherd scoring in the first 10 minutes, taking an early lead. Goals continued until halftime for a score of 7 to 0, one of these coming from a penalty which was landed by new keeper Damien Hutton.
Their attack was quick and accurate, scoring goals throughout the match. TAS tried hard but couldn’t match Guyra’s pace or skill. Defensively, Guyra stayed solid and kept a clean sheet.
This strong win shows Guyra’s teamwork and power this season. With the second half goals from Tyson Burey, Charlie White, Lachlan Bogert and Bryn Archbold.
The final score ending up as 13-nil. Three points to Lachlan Bogert who worked hard in the middle, 2 points to Angus Shepherd for his 4 goals, and 1 point to Rob Starreveld for another great game at the back.
Guyra’s 4th Grade played TAS at home this week in which was an important game for the home team to get on the winning list.
Early stages of the game saw some positive play from the TAS team to which the Guyra defence held strong. Guyra settled down and played some lovely soccer to eventually see a positive strike from the young Noah Brennan to slot the opener. Half time score 1-1.
Positive talk at half time from the older players soon set things up for the 2nd half. TAS hit back to take the lead with a goal in the 50th minute, which Guyra kicked into gear. Bryn Archbold fired one in from 35m out to tie things up in the 68th minute that set things up for a final push to see Jake Tibbs float a cross over to Noah who was wanting inside the box.
Final score 3-2 on which was a great team performance by all. Point this week could have went to anyone. 3 Noah 2 Bryn worked all game and 1 to Gemma who was extremely solid in defence.
