A dominant double over the old enemy sees the Super Spuds and Spudettes in good shape heading into the last three weeks of the regular season.  Guyra was expected to roll weak Armidale sides in both games and didn’t disappoint.
In A grade the competition’s leading try-scorer Mark Walker posted another hat-trick and Corey Torrens, Terique Smith and Alistiar Connors scored two apiece as the Spuds ran away to a 12-try, 62-12 hiding of the pie eaters.
It was 28-6 at halftime and the second half only opened up further.  The other try-scorers were Hayden Strong, Edward Pitt and Jayden French.  Skipper French was also player of the match with three best and fairest points.  Torrens (2) and Billy Youman (1) picked up the other points.
Earlier the Spudettes also ran up a score in the leaguetag with Kiarna Landsborough having a field day with three tries.  Another highlight was co-captain Sharnae Smith running in two long-range tries in as many minutes after halftime.
Jamiah Jarrett opened the scoring, while Kyiesha Landsborough and Ellie Mitchell were the other try-scorers.  It finished 40-4, which helps keep Guyra inside the top four.
Smith (3), Kiarna Landsborough (2) and Ash Richardson (1) scored the club points.
The Spuds get a week off and then face Narwan in the last home game of the regular season on July 15.
On that night the club will be holding its fancy dress party at the bowling club from 6pm.
Entry is $10 with finger food, entertainment and prizes on offer.
