28th Apr 2026

When our community comes together for a cause, it truly knows how to step up. With 58 players turning out for the Golf Ambrose fundraiser for little Frankie Patterson, along with countless others contributing in different ways, Sunday was a tremendous success.
The day featured moving speeches about Frankie, her current care at Westmead Hospital, and the gratitude Cody and Alyssa feel for the incredible support surrounding them. This heartfelt moment was followed by presentations and a much-anticipated celebrity ice bucket challenge.
On the course, Terry and Randy Mulligan claimed victory in the Men’s Ambrose, with Graham Hutton and Bailey Wilson finishing as runners-up. In the Women’s event, Belinda Lenehan (Bob) and Sally Gilder took out the win, ahead of Sheree Clarke and Sarah Gwilym. The Mixed Ambrose was won by Nat Mendes and Copper Brennan, with Adam and Nikki Brennan placing second.
Longest drive honours went to the Mendes family, with Nat winning the women’s and Trent the men’s. Nearest-to-the-pin winners included Adam Brennan (7th), Belinda Lenehan (9th), Ian Taylor (10th) and Stevie Kliendienst (18th), while Heidi Wilson claimed the second shot prize. The Mulligan Award went to Les and Tanya Perrett, closely followed by Brett and Jamie Maylard. Adding to the fun, the best dressed couple—Thing 1 and Thing 2—was awarded to Lachie Brazier and Callum Morse.
A highlight of the day was the celebrity ice bucket challenge, featuring Cr Sam Coupland, Cr Eli Imad, Bradie Vidler, Rikki Brazier and Robert Sisson, all of whom surpassed the $200 target to take part. The crowd enthusiastically cheered as each braved a bucket of icy water. A sincere thank you to these good sports for helping raise vital funds.
The fundraising continued with Cody Clarke auctioning four donated lambs, raising over $1,500 thanks to the generosity of community members.
The Guyra Hockey Club extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the event and contributed to such a memorable day, with a total of $5,000 raised to assist little Frankie. And a very special mention to our president Tegan Clarke for your time and efforts to create a successful day.
