Spuds looking to revive Reggies

Hugo Brazier offloads to Garth Walls at Spuds training last week
10th Mar 2026

The Super Spuds are back at training this week, but the biggest news might be the return of a reserve grade side for 2026.
With a number of young players, but not enough for an under 18s, the club is putting the call out for some older players to join them in a reserves side.
A coach or player-coach will also be needed to lead a reggies team and players will need to register and attend training.
With trial games coming up and the season proper starting on April 11, there is not a lot of time left to get involved before kick-off.
Guyra has not fielded a reserve grade side since 2016 and not regularly since 2012.
All teams will continue training at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the lead-up to the trials and in preparation for the Group 19 season kick-off.
Anyone interested in coaching reserve grade should send a letter to guyrarugbyleague@gmail.com or attend training.
Reserves players are also encouraged to get to training or contact the club ASAP.
