Hockey report

26th May 2026

Under 12s played NEGS in a fast game which was predominately played in the midfield. Overcome at times by the strength of NEGS in the mids saw numerous attempts at goal.
Mia W truly had her work cut out as our goal keeper and stepped up to the challenge. It was lovely to see some of our under tens step up and play full field especially Ed S who enjoyed clearing the ball in the backs.
A loss but plenty to learn and build on going forward.
Third Grade faced Breakaways again and haven’t they improved with an extremely different result from the start of the season. Our young girls ran plenty of miles and truly put their bodies on the line.
Poppy Post had a cracking game capitalised by a beautiful goal. We welcomed Tania after a thirty-five year break but you wouldn’t have known.
Walcha look a likes Jordie and Suse had Breakaways baffled in the midfield with their never die approach. Another game with plenty of banter and a draw was an outstanding outcome.
Second grade played PLC on Saturday, another well drilled school team who moved the ball continually across the field.
Shelby Heagney had a cracking game running the ball in the forwards to drag the goalie and score twice. PLC found the goal twice to even the score.
Jo Mackie gets a special mention for taking our first two minutes in the chair, still baffled as to why. Certain players were glad it wasn’t them warming the naughty chair first!!!
A draw but a good game played well by all.
