The Guyra Shamrocks Men’s Team bounced back in style this weekend, redeeming themselves in a much-anticipated rematch against United.
This time, a full-strength team took the field, and it showed from the first whistle. With strong plays, sharp passing, and rock-solid defending, Guyra looked composed and confident across all areas of the pitch.
It was a true team effort—disciplined, determined, and driven to set the record straight. The Shamrocks are back in form and ready to keep the momentum rolling.
Watch out, competition—Guyra means business.

Jackson dives to
keep it a draw
Guyra women’s 3rd Grade played a well-matched and entertaining game against Harlies, with both teams showing great spirit and sportsmanship.
A standout moment came from Bernadette Jackson, who once again proved her class in goal, diving across to make a crucial save that kept the score level. Her efforts were met with cheers from the sideline — including a proud call of “Go Mum!”
With no substitutes available, the team held their positions throughout the match, settling into a rhythm as the game went on. Strong runs from Jules Deshon and Jacqui Buntine came close to breaking the deadlock, while Casey Lennon did a fantastic job holding off the opposition in midfield.
It was a great effort all round in what was a tightly contested and enjoyable match.

Junior teams triumph
across the board
It was a weekend to remember for Guyra’s junior hockey teams, who claimed victory in all their matches.
The Guyra Under 8 Geckos showed true grit and determination, playing short against the Harlies and still managing to secure a well-earned win. Their teamwork and resilience shone through from start to finish.
In an exciting, end-to-end contest, the Guyra Under12 Galahs took on NEGS Blue. Will Stevens opened the scoring with his very first goal, capitalising on a perfectly executed penalty corner—an effort straight learnt from training. What a memorable way to get in the score board!
Meanwhile, the Under 12 Goats faced a strong PLC side in a tightly contested match. Guyra’s discipline in holding their width and sharp passing between players proved to be the difference, helping them emerge victorious.
A stellar weekend all round for Guyra juniors—well done to all teams!
