Men’s Golf

Last Sunday 16 golfers travelled to Glen Innes for the 2019 Pennants. After six holes the rain got the better of the field and the tournament postponed. A proposed date for a replay is the 19th January with the green fees already paid carrying over to then, this date is up for discussion.
This Saturday will be the ladies verse men’s matchplay so any players looking for a challenge please turn up. Sunday will be an 18 hole stableford for a club trophy. Don’t forget Bruce’s Bash on the 14th.
The Albatross

Men’s Bowls
The results of the Club Championships played over the weekend. Sunday December 1st saw two games of Open Singles played,
Dan Kennedy played Robert Moore. It looked as though Dan has peaked at the right time with the Annual Carnival just around the corner. Dan took control from the first end and never at any stage let Robert into the contest. Dan continued his form to the end and took a victory 31 shots to 10 shots over 20 ends.
The other game was also an Open Singles contest between Ian Jacobs and John Hamel. This game was over by the 6th end as Ian skipped away to handy lead 14 shots to nil. John was unable to chase down this lead. Ian was able to continually extend his lead and went on to a victory 31 shots to 12 shots over 26 ends.
Bowlers there is a date to remember and that is December 15th, on this day the Brian Vickery Ham Day will take place so if you would like to play and try and win a Ham then put your name on the sheet provided on the notice board. More on this event in next week's report.
