Junior Soccer

12th Aug 2025

It has been a few weeks since junior soccer has seen any play due to wet weather. The past weekend there were two games played in the competitive age groups with both the under 12s and 14s sides playing Demon Knights sides in Guyra.
The under 12s showed the effect of no games practice and started slow and messy. They kicked into gear halfway thought the first half but were already trailing by one. It was nearly the best passing performance from the team of the season as the worked their way up the field with ease until they met the DK defence which shut them down at every goal shooting opportunity. They narrowly went down in the game unable to make up for the slow start.
The under 14s game was a different story and the Guyra side looked refreshed after their long break. They soon took the lead with a goal to Taharn Purvis from the edge of the goal box. Then the game took a twist and DK put together 5 minutes of good play from out of nowhere. Great saves from keeper Kayne Brennan kept them goalless. Guyra clicked back into gear and Taharn landed another before half-time. The second half seen Guyra’s dominance continue as Peter Grills put one in the goals to seal the game a 3 to nil win.
