Guyra 3rd grade travelled to Armidale to take on Norths. The game began fiercely with each team battling to get the upper hand. Mid way through the first half Norths found the back of the Guyra net with some slick play. This seemed to kick the Casper’s into gear and a well taken corner from Braith landed on Adam Litherlands head which he made sure hit the net. The second half started and Guyra dominated possession only to concede a poor goal on the counter attack, this seemed to get Guyra going again and two quick goals to Sammy Adhikari and Angus Shepherd put them in control. A great defensive display late made sure Guyra took the 3 points and the win. Points this week went to Lachie Bogert 3, Braith Kliendienst 2 and Damo Hutton 1.
The Casper 4ths playing in Armidale against a hungry in form Uralla side. The team started very quick this week with a shot from Noah Brennan just missing in the first two minutes, with Uralla players saying ‘we might be in trouble here that happened very quickly’. Uralla soon took a bit of control and fired in the first goal. Some great passing in the middle and then through the Sammy Adhikari out wide seen the game go to 1 all. Uralla put two quick goal on Guyra from two soft and unlucky penalties inside the box to go up 3 to 1. In the dying moments of the second half Noah again hit it will this time for the ball to hit the inside of the post and bounce back into the field. In the second half Guyra lost its way a little which was not helped by some inconsistent ref call with Uralla taking the win in the end.
The Guyra team now have next weekend off before 3rd grade travels to Glen Innes and the 4th grade side had to travel to Armidale to face souths. This will be the first real test of both teams manpower, been one of the few times this season the teams will play apart.
