Senior Soccer

Guyra United 4th grade took on a very experienced Glen Innes team at home this week. The game started well for Guyra with some nice movement of the ball. Unfortunately, Glen struck early with a break down in back play. This set the tone for Glen who kept pushing forward with plenty of force.
Special mention to Cooper Brennan in goals for some tremendous saves. Adam and Bryn in midfield had solid games. With Leah and Jamie defending well. Final score was 4-0 to Glen Innes.
Third grade haven’t had a lot of game time this season with this being their fourth game out of a possible nine. So with that in mind, they are still searching for their groove. They took on a full strength Glen Innes team in a very physical contest.
Play was back and forth with no one able to hang onto the ball. Glen struck just before half time break. The second half started well for the Guyra lads with some nice play and movement from Harrison and Lachlan in midfield. Simpson up front had a very good game and was unlucky not to score. He was supported well by Olly and Blake.
Glen scored two late goals to run away with a 3-0 win, in a game where the score board doesn’t tell the whole story.
