Soccer season comes to an end

Saturday, 17th September was a big day for local soccer with two massive games played.
The Under 12s Guyra Spirits played in the premiership decider against Demon Knights in Armidale, while the 4th Grade Guyra United side was up against East Armidale in the preliminary final.
The results may not have been what the club had hoped for, with both sides going down in close contests. Both games went to the wire with the Spirits being denied victory in their Grand Final match in the dying seconds of the game by a last minute goal to DK. An awesome effort by a team of upcoming soccer stars.
The 4th Grade team were sent into extra time in the final minute of the game with a goal to East Armidale making the score 2 all. The teams were still deadlocked at the end of extra time and the Caspers were sent to a penalty shoot-out with East Armidale eventually taking the win. A well-fought battle for this great team.
