Last Saturday Guyra United soccer club held their end of year presentation at the grounds. All the 6 years to 10 years players were presented with a medal and the older age groups received vouchers. Each of the junior teams also awarded a Player’s player.
The under 6 teams chose Axel Lockyer and Willow Cruickshank, the under 7 side selected Mackenna Cleaver, under 8s picked Harrison McRae and finally there were joint winners in the under 10 side with Peter Grills and Cruz Little taking out the prize.
The special awards for the year saw the under 16 side take out the David Martin trophy for team of year. This award is not based on results, but for their commitment to the season and positive attitude.
The club person is presented to members of the club who go out of their way to do that extra little bit during the season. This year there were joint winners with Steven Kliendienst and Harris Dullaway sharing the award.
It was great to see a large number of senior players in attendance. There were three awards presented within each grade. The second grade awards were: Player’s player Brett Little, Best and Fairest (picked by the first-grade side) Angus Shepherd, and the Coach’s awards was presented to Ollie Flynn.
The first-grade awards were: Player’s player Blake Handebo, Best and Fairest (picked by 2nd grade) Matthew Simpson and the Coach’s award went to Tyson Burey.
Thanks, every one of the great season and we look forward to seeing you all again next year. Keep an eye out in next week’s Gazette for a season wrap of each junior side.
