Thursday Night Mixed Tennis Competition
The Guyra Tennis Club is looking for interested tennis players to come and have a social hit on Thursday 5th September 2019 at 6pm. Come and play for free on the night and receive a free sausage sandwich. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Sally Purvis for catering purposes on 0456 921 280. We are wanting to start a Mixed Tennis Night competition after the school holidays. If you are interested in playing in the mixed tennis competition but can’t attend on the night, please message Sally Purvis to register your interest.
Junior Cricket
An information afternoon for all players interested in playing junior cricket for Guyra this year will be held on Thursday, September 5th. Guyra is looking to field teams in under 10, under 12 and under 14 age groups in the Armidale District junior competition this year. Please come along to the Recreation Ground cricket nets from 4.30pm. For more information, phone Jason Campbell 0428 763 688 or Simon Brown 0427 665 131.
Ladies’ Golf
A field of 9 ladies braved very windy conditions on the 21st August competing for Pip Whites trophy. Jenny Rogers was the winner with 34 points and the Runner Up was Pip White with 33 points. Nearest the Pin winners were 7th Wendy George and the 18th Pip White.
Wednesday 4th September is a Par Medal Round with Shona Mulligan as the starter.
Also on Wednesday 4th September several ladies will be travelling to Inverell to play in the VW Scramble Event. Good luck ladies

Men’s Golf
Last Sunday’s stableford was won by Len Stanley with 37 points and the runner up was Michael Jackson. Nearest to the pins were Dick Burey on the 7th , Bruce Coppock on the 10th and Barry Simpson(?) on the 18th. Next Sunday will be an 18-hole stroke for the Landmark trophy and Monthly mug. Saturday will be a diamond round of the opal cove cup.
