Come and try cricket
Woolworths Cricket Blast is a fun and fast program for kids of all abilities to learn the skills and play Australia’s favourite sport. Buzzing with the energy of big bash cricket, Woolworths Cricket Blast teaches kids how to bat, bowl, field and catch over 12 weeks - all while making new friends.
A Come and Try & Registration Day will be held on Tuesday 24th September for Junior Blaster (5-7 years) from 3.30 – 4.30pm and Master Blaster (7-10 years) from 3.30 – 5.00pm
Junior Blasters is for ages 5-7 and focusses on learning new skills including catching, throwing and teamwork. Master Blasters is for ages 7-10 for kids with basic cricket skills
Sessions will be held at Guyra Central School Marne Street (parking on Prisk Street), Guyra commencing Tuesday October 22nd, with the 12-week program running over Term 4 2019 and Term 1 2020

Soccer presentations
Guyra United Soccer Club Presentations will be held onSaturday 21st of September at the Guyra Recreation Fields (weather permitting) at 11 am
Junior and Senior players will come together to celebrate the end of the 2019 Soccer Season with a family fun day. Junior presentations will be held first followed by a BBQ lunch and cake. The Senior presentations will then take place. There will be fun games all day for the kids (and adults), face painting and music so something for everyone. We request that all players wear their new jerseys, club hoodies or club shirts on the day for photos. The jerseys can then be returned at the end of the day. We look forward to seeing you to celebrate the achievements of our great club.

Ladies’ Golf
Last Wednesday 9 ladies played in ideal weather conditions.
In a Stableford Competition Jenny Rogers was the winner with 39 points on a count back from Julie Walker.
Nearest The Pin Winners were Wendy George on the 7th hole, Karen Oehlers on the 10th Hole and Belinda Lenehan on the 18th hole.
This week we are playing for Joyce Betts’ trophy in a Stroke and Putting Competition.
Wednesday 25th September is a Bisque Par Event with Karen Oehlers as the starter.
Also on the 25th September the NEDGA 4BBB/Vets 4BBB and the are to be held at Inverell.

Mens Golf
Last Sunday saw the Grazag stableford played in spectacular weather. The winner with 39 points was Bruce Coppock and runner up was Steven Sole. Nearest to the pins were Barry Simpson on the 7th, Darrin Towells on the 10th and John Coppock on the 18th. Next Sunday will be a par 3 day sponsored by Joel and Magoo. It will be a shotgun start at 11 am and open to all ladies and men . The Albatross

Vets Golf
On Tuesday, 10th September, eleven hardy Vets played an Individual Stableford event. The winner, with a score of 38 points, was John Prisk and the runner-up was Ian Taylor with 35. Kim Shaw was the best putter of the day with 26 putts. Roger Grills was nearest the pin on the 18th.
After golf 11 Vets attended our Annual General Meeting. David Bearup was returned as President, Wal Chapman was elected as Secretary, Warren Mc Cowen remains as our Captain and Pat Grills, John Prisk and Chris Newberry will continue as our committee members. Pattie Hill and Nancy Prisk are the new Tournament Directors.
Tuesday September 17th was a pleasant although smoky day with 11 players competing in a par competition. The winner on plus 6 was Don Campbell and runner up Wal Chapman with plus 5. The best putter was Ian Taylor, 26 putts.
Nearest the pins were Len Stanley on the 10th and Neil Payne the 18th.
On Tuesday, 24th September we will be competing in a 4BBB event with a draw for markers. Glen Innes will be hosting three days of golf - Friday, 20th September to Sunday, 22nd September.
