Junior Soccer
Under 6 Caspers had one of their best games yet. Their team work and passing skills shone through to secure nine goals together. The Souths Squirrels came to us and were a great team to play against. Thanks to Acton from the Phantoms for coming across to play too.
Guyra Spooks were excited to be able to play on the weekend after the weather has interrupted their games and training over the last few weeks. Our team had a win against a strong Norths side who showed some great ball skills. Our team has shown great improvement during the season and their confidence is growing with each game.
Under 8s played North Armidale this past weekend in Guyra. The team played well together with Vinnie, Stirling and Orlando all getting goals. Our defence worked well but Norths managed to get around them. The team was super excited to be playing after all the weather interruptions.
Under 10s played North Armidale as well in Guyra and were excited to be playing with all the Armidale fields closed. They were a bit rusty in the early going and Norths got out to an early lead. The side never gave up and pushed Norths all the way, they have improved so much since the start of the season.
Under 14s had a chance to play finals if they won on Saturday against second place North Armidale. They tried hard all game but silly mistakes and passing let the side down for Norths to take the win. They are now looking to finish the season on a high against TAS this weekend.

Senior Soccer
It was the end of the home games for Guyra 4th grade last Saturday. We played a strong South Armidale team in what was one of the better games this season. With a number of players away for the weekend some younger members of the team stepped up. With Eli Jackson moving into the centre of field and combining well with the ever solid Bryn Archbold. The three ladies at the back, Jaymie, Gemma and Ash play very well and then Aidan run hard all game up front. The Guyra side went down in the end 2 to 0.
The 3rd grade side looked to consolidate their third spot on the ladder against first place Inverell in Guyra. In what would be a narrow loss to the team it was a good test to see where they need to be in the finals this year if they want to take out the premiership. The last home and away season game will be against DK in Armidale before they head into the finals.
The club is also looking for interest from the community on a potential twilight 6 a side twilight soccer competition to run in school term 4, 2025 and start of term 1 2026. It will be a social thing one afternoon a week, anyone interested jump on the Facebook page and leave a message.
