Men’s Bowls
There were four Club Championship games played over the weekend in comfortable weather conditions. All games were played on Saturday June 27th.
Scott Campbell played Robert Walls and in this game Robert was successful over 25 ends defeating Scott 31 shots to 12 shots. Wayne Reeves played John McIlwain and in this game John was successful over 28 ends defeating Wayne 31 shots to 17 shots. Mallie Walls played Col Stanley and in this game Col was successful over 28 ends winning 31 shots to 20 shots. Andrew Sparke played John Jackson and in this John was successful over 37 ends winning 31 shots to 28 shots.
Notwithstanding the scores in most games the bowls were as keenly contested as they always have been and the standard of bowls has not fallen off as would have expected pleasing to see. Now games set down for this weekend:
Saturday July 4th. Start: 12.00pm. Starter: Paul Johnson. Umpire: David Wilcox.
Club Pairs: Scott Campbell and Boyd Stanley to play Barry Walls and Dan Kennedy.
Open Singles: Anthony Bull to play Roger Cox marker Mallie Walls.
Barry Presnell to play Barry Campbell marker Wayne Reeves.
Major/Minor Pairs: David Wilcox and Paul Johnson to play Murray Bourke and Andrew Sparke.
As stated last week all boarded games are play or Forfeit as the Match Committee endeavours to finalise the Club Pairs and Open Singles to have a Club Champion in both games in the Champion of Champions.
