This Saturday’s top of the table clash with Narwan could decide if the Super Spuds will be minor premiers.
The last home game of the regular season is shaping as the biggest so far as Guyra can virtually seal top spot and a home major semi final with a win in A grade.
In fact all three games are crucial with the under 18s also hoping to stay on top of the ladder and the Spudettes in a fight to make the top four.
Last time the clubs met the Eels muscled up and beat the Spuds in Armidale and sit in second place heading into the weekend.
Guyra is four points in front with three games to play, so a win could settle first place, with Narwan battling Inverell for second and Moree and Bingara not far behind.
The 18s are a point in front of Glen Innes and need to hit the ground running after several weeks with no football.
After beating Narwan narrowly last time, the Spudettes need to keep winning to maintain their third place and ensure Guyra has all three teams in the semi finals.
It is also Ladies’ Day on Saturday at the New Red Hill and there will be red and white wine at the bar and a lucky door prize for female supporters.
The club is also holding its fancy dress party at the Bowling Club from 6pm that evening.
Entry is just $10 and includes finger food, prizes and entertainment.
