Men’s Bowls
Two Club Championship games were contested over the weekend. Handicap Singles: Dan Kennedy (-8) played Barry Campbell (+3). Barry made good his 11 shot start winning the first 4 ends however Dan slowly closed the gap and eventually wore Barry down and went on to take victory 32 shots to 16 shots over 28 ends.
The other game was in Minor Singles: Roger Cox played Barry Walls. Roger shot out to a handy lead winning the first 7 ends, Barry staged a comeback but the lead was too much and Roger went on to victory 33 shots to 12 shots over 24 ends.
Now to this weekend’s events: Saturday September 26th: Start: 12.00pm. Starter and Umpire: David Wilcox.
Club Triples: David Wilcox, Murray Bourke and Paul Johnson to play Scott Campbell, Steven Sole and Barry Campbell.
Robert Moore, Boyd Stanley and David Lyes to play Andrew Sparke, Michael Shiner and Partner.
Sunday September 27th: Start: 12.00pm. Starter and Umpire: David Wilcox.
Club Triples: Winner David Wilcox v/s Scott Campbell to play winner Robert Moore v/s Andrew Sparke.
John McIlwain, Roger Cox and Evan Sole to play Robert Walls, Ian Jacobs and Mallie Walls.
Bowlers are reminded that the Bowls AGM will be held Sunday September 27th at 11.00am. Followed by presentation of Winners and Runners Up for 2019/20 season.
All games listed are play or forfeit to assist the Match Committee complete this Seasons Bowls. Nomination sheets are now on the notice board for games 2020/21 season, entries close October 31st so get your entries in now.

Ladies’ Golf

Last week the ladies played a 4BBB Stableford for the NSW Bowl.
The winners were Meg Simpson and Wendy George on a countback from Suzanne Towells and Pip White with 42 points.
Nearest the Pin Winners were Vicki Reeves on the 9th and 18th holes.
Julie Walker on the 10th hole.
This week is a Stableford competition.
Next week is the Foursomes Championships sponsored by the Gittoes Family.
This event is 27 holes with a 9am start.
Pip White is the starter.

Vets Golf
Last week 15 golfers competed in an individual stableford counting putts. The scores were surprisingly low with only 5 players scoring more than 30 points.
The winner was the ever consistent Don Campbell with 35 points on a count back from Col Walls also on 35 points. The putts went to Paul Redden and John Prisk both with 28 putts.
Nearest the pins were Col Walls on the 7th, Nancy Prisk the 10th and Phil Devlin the 18th.
The weather might win the day this week with rain forecast.

Cricket
An information day for Junior Cricketers will be held at the cricket nets at the Guyra Recreation Ground this Thursday September 24th. Boys or girls interested in playing are invited to come along from 4pm. Full details on classified page.
