Sporting sucess for Richardson family

15th Jun 2026

Guyra’s Fletcher Richardson has again been selected to represent Australia at the World Junior ISSF Trap Championships in Germany from the 16th to the 26th June, marking his final appearance in the national team as a junior competitor.
Fletcher travelled to Brisbane where he joined his Australian teammates, competing in the Queensland State Titles before departing for Germany. The selection is another significant achievement for the talented young shooter, who has consistently performed at a high level to earn national representation.
Fletcher’s father, Jeff Richardson, has also been selected as the Australian Assistant Coach for the tour. His appointment recognises his experience and contribution to the sport and will allow him to support the Australian team throughout the international campaign.
Meanwhile, the Richardson family recently travelled to Roma for the Queensland State DTL Championships, returning home with more impressive results.
Ashleigh Richardson claimed the Ladies Single Barrel State Title, an outstanding achievement after recently returning to the sport following a break while travelling with Rugby Union commitments.
Jeff Richardson also enjoyed success at the championships, finishing third overall in the State Handicap event against a strong field of competitors.
As Fletcher prepares for his final junior international campaign, the community will be watching with interest and wishing both him and the Australian team the very best in Germany.
