Under 10s - The score this week for under tens wasn’t on our side however the team defended very well and didn’t give up! Emma’s confidence is growing each week tackling and marking players well. Also a big mention to Laura in the goals who faced each ball consistently with her never say die attitude. As always the oranges at half time are a big hit.
Under 12s - Our under twelves team played Harlies who are currently undefeated. Knowing we would play an extremely defensive game all the kids came prepared to work together.
Mia W had a cracking game in goals saving numerous attempts, at the end saying “It was really fun” even though we lost. Will S stepped up as our postie in the penalty corners and saved a direct shot in the first half. Charles G did not stop all game as he fought to defend the ball and Casey J had a tremendous game covering and clearing in defence.
Well done to all our players, you should be extremely proud. As Bully says “You’ve got to learn to defend before you can attack!”
3rd Grade - Guyra third grade took on the mighty ESC in a fun match on Saturday. With eleven ladies taking the field and truly looking like a team of super stars they passed, thLuke Allsopp beat the Moree defence in the way to the try line.
ey tackled, they defended a thousand short corners and kept ESC to nil. Huge credit to the work of Jordie Muller who deflected a cross ball to put Guyra in the lead, then topping it off by winning a meat tray at celebratory drinks! The play of the day goes to our goalie Bernadette Jackson who took on ESC’s gun in a stroke and she got a toe to deflect it. Well done ladies a super win and thanks to ESC for making it a fun game.
2nd grade - Second grade played Harlies and found a new gear with plenty of subs to maintain the intensity for the full sixty minutes. With our forwards quickly getting the upper hand resulting in two quick goals, this put Guyra in the lead by the first quarter. Our single hand bandit Brooke was impressive with her speed, stick skills and running the back line, helping put Guyra ahead by four at half time. Harlies did find their backboard in the last half but the Guyra ladies were victorious. Huge shout out to the puppy support crew on the hill who came out to watch.
