Men’s Bowls
There was only two Club Championship games played over the weekend: In Club Pairs Murray Bourke and Cameron Peardon played Colin Stanley and Corby Kliendienst. I witnessed this game and right from the start, Col and Corby held the upper hand, thanks to the consistency of Corby’s draw shots. As there were no score cards from this game I am unable to give the final score, but I understand that Col and Corby were the successful winners.
The other game was an Open Singles game played between Andrew Sparke and John Jackson. Both players were out of the blocks but it did not take long for Andrew to take control. Try as he might John had no answer to Andrews’s consistency. Andrew went on to take victory 31 shots to 14 shots over 22 ends.
Club Championship games set down for Saturday May 8th. Start: 12.00pm. Starter and Umpire: Robert Walls.
Open Singles: John McIlwain to play Steven Sole marker Scott Campbell
Handicap Singles: Robert Goodchild to play Barry Presnell marker John Jackson.
Robert Walls to play Robert Moore marker Wayne Reeves
Major/Minor Pairs: Dan Kennedy and Grahame Starr to play David Wilcox and Paul Johnson.
