Junior soccer
It was a relatively quiet weekend for the last round of home games for Guyra Junior Soccer for this season. The Under 6 Spooks had a forfeit, the Under 7 Jellybeans had the BYE and the Under 8 teams faced each other in a derby match. The Under 9 Jets were the only team to travel to Armidale. Our Under 16s, 14s and 12s all donned black armbands in honour of Darryl Dowden. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
Nominations are now open for the Jack Vallance Junior Memorial Carnival that was postponed due to the snow. The carnival will now be held on Sunday 1st of September. Please speak to your team coach if you wish to take part in the carnival.

Vets Golf
Last week three teams from Guyra Vets competed in the New England Vets 4ball competition in Glen Innes.
Most clubs from the Queensland border down to Walcha were represented.
The winning team was from Tenterfield with a score of 45. They will represent the New England in the State championships at Port Macquarie.
The Guyra teams were quite competitive with scores of 39 for Col Walls and Kim Shaw as well as Len Stanley and Don Campbell with Herb Wilson and Wal Chapman on 37.
Despite these 6 players being away in Glen Innes there was still a good roll up to play in the weekly Vets comp. The 8 players competed in an Individual Stableford.
