Men’s Bowls
Well the weather sure threw a spanner in the works over the weekend, only two Club Championship games were played.
Saturday July 25th saw an Open Singles game between Anthony Bull and John McIlwain. John was in fine form taking control of the game from the first bowl and never let Anthony settle into the game. John went on to take the win over 21 ends.
The other game was a Handicap Singles Game played between Robert Goodchild (+8) and Robert Moore (-1), it was good to see an up and coming bowler in Bob The Barman showing that he is capable of keeping more seasoned bowlers interested. Even though Robert Moore went on to take the victory in this encounter 31 shots to 10 shots over 18 ends.
This weekend Saturday August 1st: Start: 12.00pm. Starter and Umpire: John Jackson.
Club Pairs: Scott Campbell and Boyd Stanley to play Dan Kennedy and Barry Walls. John Jackson and Barry Campbell to play Cameron Peardon and Murray Bourke.
Weather permitting these games are play or forfeit, Match Committee.
Saturday August 1st will see the District Singles played at Armidale City, Guyra will be represented by David Wilcox, John McIlwain and Steven Sole. The draw will see David Wilcox play John McIlwain with Steven Sole playing the winner of this game. Best of luck to all three bowlers.
