Junior Soccer
Under 6 Caspers had a great game against a strong Walcha team in Armidale. Each player is gaining confidence every week. They are starting to work together and are improving on their defence each game.
Under 6 spooks played the Walcha Giants on Saturday in Armidale. The team played so well together again, Clark, Hugo, and Banjo all made some amazing runs while Anna and Ebonee were great on defence.
Under 7 spooks played Uralla United in a good game. Guyra played well in attack and defence. Axel, Haidee, Stirling and Thomas played a good game and Vinnie, Eli and Willow had good games and they were our goal scores.
Under 10s was Guyra vs Guyra this week and it was a well played game. Both teams played very well and had plenty of chances to score. For the tigers the goal scorers this week were Luca, Matthew and Grace. For the Phantoms Harry played a hard fought game up front and was very unlucky not to score. He was supported well with Harbour and Ivy down in the backs. Great game everyone
Under 12s played TAS in Guyra this week and they continued their winning way. This was not without some pressure from an older TAS side. The Guyra side run out to a 3 nil lead a half time, this was the same in the second half with the final result 6 to 0 with the goal scorers been Taharn, Peter and George.

Senior Soccer
With a lot of the senior players tied up with other commitments on the weekend 80% of the remaining players played both games against Inverell. The first game saw a much-improved Guyra side from the team’s first meeting in Inverell and Guyra was inches away from posting the first points off the Inverell keeper’s mistake only one minute into the match.
The game was back and forth until Inverell broke the deadlock from a shot well outside the goal box. With a penalty given inside the box Cooper B continues to be a standout in goals saving the penalty shot. After half-time the game was tight, but Inverell again scored from a cross out wide taking away the win.
The few fresh faces for the second game saw Guyra apply the early pressure. With the possession going Guyra’s way in the first quarter of the game, our forwards proved too fast for the Inverell backs but we’re unable to convert it into points.
Guyra couldn’t maintain the pressure with fatigue and handling errors giving the Inverell the opportunity to score and they were able to convert these into points. With Inverell taking away a narrow win.
