Guyra girls impress at first-ever girls PSSA tackle State titles

Guyra Central School students Indigo Atkin and Airlie Vidler last week played in the the North West Team which had an outstanding performance at the first-ever PSSA Girls Tackle Rugby League State Championships.
Held over three days at Cronulla, this landmark event marked a significant milestone in girls’ rugby league, providing a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talents on a State stage.
Competing fiercely against some of the best teams across NSW, Indigo and Airlie played a crucial role in securing two impressive victories throughout the carnival. Their skill, teamwork, and determination demonstrated the strength and growth of girls’ rugby league in North West region.
On the final day, the team narrowly missed out on a higher finish with a hard-fought 10-8 loss in the playoffs against Sydney North, ultimately placing 8th overall in the event. This commendable finish was a remarkable achievement for the North West and lays a solid foundation for future participation and success.
