Junior Hockey
Under 8s once again worked well as a team against United. They continue to improve, passing well and moving the ball around the field.
Under 12s had their last round match on Saturday. Once again the draw had the Goats and Galahs playing at the same time. Without the help of our amazing Under 8s we would have struggled to field both teams. Galahs played NEGS in a defensive game. Arlie R did plenty of running in the midfield and really stepped up to the challenge of moving the ball away from our goal. Whilst Isla L and Casey J supported each other as backs and took early balls to work out of our defence. Elsie P had a cracking game in goals coming off her line to defend whilst Evie C built her confidence in the game to tackle and run the ball. The umpires commended the team on their effort especially playing 5 vs 8.
The Goats played Harlies Fizzer, a strong competitive side. Lachie R showed true leadership as captain and goalie. He defended well and talked his team through the play from the back line. Ed S once again showed his strong slap stick clearing the ball and Elka G improved by getting to the ball first. Our mids and forwards had plenty of work to do to help out the defence, once again showing a positive attitude and huge improvement over the season.

Women’s Hockey
Sunday morning saw 2nd Grade take on a well-rested and determined Robb College side. From the first whistle it was a fierce contest, with Guyra players hitting the deck on the slippery surface and putting their bodies on the line.
Robb struck first on the scoreboard, but Guyra responded quickly with Emma W’s powerful hit from a penalty corner. Maz S showed great composure and skill in defence, handling persistent pressure from the Robb forwards.
It was a tough, physical match, and the depth provided by having subs across each line made a big difference. The game finished in a hard-fought draw - a well-earned refreshment needed afterwards to reflect on the result.
3rd Grade Ladies were up against a strong Flamingoes side on Saturday, the 3rd grade ladies braced for an onslaught but showed just how much progress they’ve made. With strong passing, solid defensive work and great runs onto the ball, the team held the opposition to a nil-all draw at half time.
Although Flamingoes managed to slip through with two goals in the second half, Guyra walked off proud of their efforts. It was a huge improvement from their previous 7–0 loss to the same side and one of their best games of the season. A fantastic effort all round — with just one match left next weekend!
