A group of Guyra racehorse owners are celebrating following the Clarence River Jockey Club’s Horse of the Year dinner which was held on Saturday March 6th.
Melted Moments, locally owned by Belinda Lenehan, Jenny Tierney, Wendy Jackson and Angela Grills won the prestigious Horse of the Year for the 2019-2020 Racing Season. Melted Moments also collected the Old Timer Horse of the Year award.
The awards night, which was postponed for 6 months due to COVID 19, was a fitting tribute to the horse who unfortunately broke down in January and had to be put down.
During his career he had 93 starts for 15 wins and won $283,000 in prize money.
All of the owners attended the awards evening and were very excited about picking up both awards.
“It was a great night,” Angela said. “We had some great fun with him, he was a little champ with a big heart.”
