Ladies’ Golf
Last week a field of 14 ladies competed for the annual 4BBB Championship, after 27 holes the winners were Donna White and Pam Youman with a score of 68 points. The Runners up were Pip White and Shona Mulligan with 64 points.
The ladies would like to thank Guyra Welding Works for their continued support and sponsorship.
Nearest the Pin Winners were Nancy Prisk on the 7th Hole, Donna White on the 9th Hole, Wendy George on the 10th Hole and Pip White on the 18th Hole.
This week we are playing a Stroke and Putting Competition with Belinda Lenehan as the starter.
Next week is a Stableford Event playing for Jenny Rogers trophy also with Jenny Rogers as the starter.
On Sunday 3rd November we have some ladies playing in the Armidale Jug. Good luck ladies.

Men’s Golf
Last Sunday’s Sole Taxation Guyra Open was won by Jayden Every from Glen Innes, with Jon Izzard from Uralla runner up. The Nett winner in A Grade was Reg Walls, with Roger Chaffey from Armidale runner up. The B Grade went to Owen Presnell from Walcha with Steven Sole runner up. The B Grade Nett winner was Scott Mendes with Bill Miller runner up. The C Grade went to Pat Grills with Roger Grills runner up. the C Grade Nett winner was Len Stanley with Evan Sole runner up.
Nearest to the pins were Bill Miller on the 7th, Scott Mendes on the 10th and Owen Presnell on the 18th.
It was a great day with the lunch alone worth the cost of entry. Next Sunday will be a 4BBB par for Ducat’s trophy and the November monthly mug. The following Sunday will be the much anticipated Brian Lennon Memorial two person ambrose.

Midweek Golf
The midweek competition is off and running with about 60 players hitting off. Team points range up to 74 maximum points. Congratulations to Charged Up for their great scores. Only two teams got extra points for all six members playing this week.
Most of the handicaps have changed this week as we had to have a starting point for the beginning of the competition. Individual high scores go to Tony Dittman 21 and Scott Rake 21. Next highest were Donna White20 and Peter Mulligan 20.
A reminder that it is a 9-hole competition. Also can players please put their names on the top of playing cards. One last thing – we need an email address for each team, if you could write your contact email for the team on the scoresheet board.

Vets Golf

On Tuesday, 22nd October, 13 Vets played a 4 Ball Best Ball. The winners, with a great score of 46 points were Chris Newberry and John Prisk. John also won the best Stableford score with 40 points.
Nearest the pins were awarded to Ian Taylor on the 7th, Doug Archibald on the 10th and Donald Campbell was closest to the hole on the 18th.

Men’s Bowls
The result of the Semi Final of the Major/Minor Pairs played over the weekend: Steven Sole and Robert Walls played Roger Cox and Boyd Stanley. Steven and Robert were out to a lead 7 nil after only two ends, but with a never say die attitude Roger and Boyd fought back and levelled the score 7 all. Steven and Robert then settled and soon opened a handy lead, try as they might Roger and Boyd were unable to catch up, but with determination they slowly fought back and by end 17 had managed to take the lead and from then on they were not headed and went on to a win 30 shots to 23 shots over 24 ends.
This weekend will see the Final of the Major/Minor Pairs played also the commencement of the 2019/2020 season.
Saturday November 2nd: Start: 1.00pm. Starter and Umpire: Robert Walls.
Final Major/Minor Pairs: Roger Cox and Boyd Stanley will play Grahame Starr and Dan Kennedy.
Club Pairs: Mallie Walls and Ian Jacobs to play Geoff Reeves and Wayne Reeves. Steven Sole and Robert Walls to play Michael Shiner and Ken Jones.
This year’s Annual Carnival will start Tuesday December 3rd with Open Women’s Triples, followed by the Mixed Triples Wednesday December 4th.
Thursday November 5th and Friday November 6th will see the Schweppes Pairs played.
Saturday November 7th and Sunday November 8th will see the New England Mutual Triples played.
