Senior Hockey
The third grade women were matched against the young, well drilled ladies of PLC. With good pre match preparation we came prepared with plenty of subs and allocated positions. It started fast and that is how it stayed for the full 60 minutes. Emily ‘extravaganza’ Evans who was back on the field after a few weeks away, came out firing. A remarkable deflection in a penalty corner saved Bernadette from a direct shot. PLC still managed to score a goal each quarter thou, it was suggested that our missed shots at goal were equal to the score so the team felt they really were actually drawing at 1/2 time!! A tough game but well played.
Second grade celebrated Mother’s Day with a midday game against Robb College. They quickly took control of the ball and shut down any Robb attack. Maz did not miss on our first penalty corner to put Guyra in the lead. Sarah Cox continually shut down the efforts made by Robb to get the ball out and when they did she made a quick dash (even sprinted past her DM and backs) to cover our goalie with an impressive back stick manoeuvre whilst on her knees. Guyra came away with a 5-0 win which was a great team effort by all

Junior Hockey
The Under 10s took on United over the weekend and went down 2 - 0 in a competitive match. Every player showed great effort and determination throughout the game. Emma J and Dallas were involved throughout the match. Evie and Georgie C combined well up front and were unlucky not to find the back of the goal, after creating some strong attacking chances.
Guyra Under 12s had plenty of cheering supporters as they played PLC on Saturday. What a game to watch and couldn’t be prouder of these kids who pulled everything together from years of training to come away with a 1-0 win.
Charles G was our everywhere man who ran the ball in attack and was quick to turn around to defend. Casey J scored the winning goal by been in the perfect spot and Mia W and Will S stepped up in defence to meet the ball and clear it well. I’m excited for our season ahead, well done kids.
