New committee needed to ensure rugby league returns in 2024

31st Oct 2023

After a poor turn-out for Sunday's annual general meeting, Guyra Rugby League will hold a barbecue and a second attempt at forming a committee this Sunday at 2pm.
The meeting at the sports complex will be the last chance to get the club off the ground for 2024, otherwise there will be no senior league in Guyra again.
The club will put on a barbecue and drinks for those in attendance and then hold the meeting in order to appoint a president, secretary, treasurer, vice-presidents and committee members to run the club going forward.
After a hugely successful year both on and off the field, it is vital that the good work done this year is not undone.
"Technically we had enough in attendance to run the AGM last Sunday, but we wanted more people to be involved so we're going to ask for all interested people to show up this Sunday," current president Grant Robertson said.
"The club is in good shape financially and we have had a lot of interest in the coaching jobs, but we need a committee first.
"No committee means no footy."
Anyone who would like to be involved should attend the ground on Sunday or contact the club via email guyrarugbyleague@gmail.com or on Facebook.
