Vets Golf
Last week, with the course still very wet, 11 players struggled to get a good score in the monthly Reg Taylor stroke competition.
The stroke winner on 86 was Ian Taylor and the nett was taken out by Jon Cumming with nett 78. Putts went to both Pat Grills and Scott Mendes with 27 putts.
Nearest the pins were Ian Taylor on the 7th, Wal Chapman the 10th and Len Stanley the 18th. Also last week a small team travelled to Deepwater to play in their Open Day. The course was presented very well but with no run and sand greens the scores were not high.
This week a good team of Vets will be competing in the next round of Pennants at Uralla where we are in the lead with a very fine margin.

Men’s Bowls
Saturday April 10th saw three Club Championship games played:
In Open Singles Dan Kennedy played Barry Walls. Barry started off ok leading 5 shots to 1 shot but this is where it all fell to pieces as Dan put his foot down and soon had the game in hand, after 18 ends of play Dan emerged the victor. The other Open Singles game was between Andrew Sparke and Barry Campbell. This game was nearly a mirror of the other game as Andrew took control of the game early and never let go of his advantage, after 20 ends of play Andrew was successful winning this game.
The other game played was a Minor Singles game and that was played between John Jackson and Roger Cox. After 7 ends this looked as though it would be a repeat of the Semi Final played between these two last year. John was not about to be caught in the same predicament and settled down and with constant draw shots shot to a handy lead. This did not sway Roger as he set about chasing down the lead however John stuck to his game and after 33 ends managed to emerge the victor 31 shots to 20 shots.
Games set down for the weekend:
Saturday April 17th start 1.00pm: Starter and Umpire: Robert Walls
Major/Minor Pairs: Steven Sole and Robert Walls to play Barry Presnell and Michael Jackson
Major Singles: Scott Campbell to play Robert Moore marker Mallie Walls

Sunday April 18th Start 1.00pm:
