An Indigenous Engagement program is already showing results for the team at the Costa glasshouses in Guyra.
Senior HR Business Partner Kylie Taylor said they were working with Joblink Plus to provide new employment opportunities for First Nations people.
The team recently hosted a successful site visit which included five local First Nations people introduced through Joblink Plus, who toured the site and met with a number of managers across the business.
“We did a tour of the glasshouses, packing and dispatch. It was really great for them to see all aspects of the operations and the different opportunities that we have available here,” Kylie said.
“They also met with a number of our leaders, three of who are local Guyra residents, who are long-standing employees and who have worked their way up into their current positions.”
Kylie said the ongoing partnership with JobLink Plus had already led to three positions being offered.
Terique Smith is working in packing and dispatch at the New England Highway glasshouses, Neville Cohen is working as an upkeep technician at Elm Street and Jodie Bell will be joining the Innovation Team.
