NAIDOC Week Celebrations

12th Sep 2023

Last week we held a range of activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week. The whole school participated in literacy activities on Understanding Eldership and the Heroes of Change. Our school mural is being redesigned showing our school values of KUKRA – which means ‘echidna’. KUKRA also represents our school values of Kindness, Understanding, Knowledge, Respect and Achievement. A huge thank you to our artists Dom Cutmore and Biankia Jones for creating our school mural.
Mrs Leslie Patterson joined us on Wednesday and held story time and had morning tea with the students. We travelled to Guyra on Friday to participate in the family fun day. Our Kukra Yulugi Crew Dancers performed a dance with the Armidale Secondary College Dancers. Everyone enjoyed a barbeque lunch. A big thank to the organisers of the day and for subsidising the bus.
