A memorable night at the theatre awaits New England audiences

03rd Nov 2026

Guyra and district residents are invited to enjoy an evening of live theatre when Armidale Dramatic Musical Society (ADMS) presents Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie at the Armidale Playhouse this November.
Directed by Warren Bartik, the play follows the Wingfield family as they wrestle with expectations, memories and hopes for a different future. Its gentle humour and emotional honesty have made it one of Tennessee Williams’ best-known works.
The four-person cast features Lisa Quast as Amanda Wingfield, William Billingsley as Tom Wingfield, Jackey Turner as Laura Wingfield and Dominick O’Shea as Jim O’Connor. Each character brings a different perspective to a story about family ties, longing and the difficulty of letting go.
For audiences travelling from Guyra, it is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a local production and support the volunteers who keep community theatre thriving across our region.
The Glass Menagerie is told through Tom’s recollections, giving the story a dreamlike quality as moments of tenderness, tension and quiet hope unfold. It is a play that invites audiences to reflect on their own families and the memories they carry.
Performances are on 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28 November 2026, including matinee options, at the Armidale Playhouse. Tickets and full session details are available at www.adms.org.au.
