Snow Gums Learning Alliance Activity Day

22nd Nov 2022

Students from Bald Blair, Ben Lomond, Black Mountain and Chandler Public Schools attended a combined schools day on Tuesday 15th November. The day was hosted by Bald Blair and included a range of activities. We had specialist providers run mini workshops, including science, music, dancing and health.
The day featured a team of students from Armidale Secondary College who led cultural dance workshops for the Snow Gums students.
The students were not the only ones learning on the day. Teachers from across Snow Gums were provided with professional learning activities focused on the new syllabus implementation for 2023.
The highlight of the day was a high jumping demonstration presented by the Back Track team and their amazing dogs. As part of the day, students from all schools were able to wrap up their Paws Up program for 2022 with a joint performance of the Paws Up song, led by Back Track’s Francesca Andreoni. The Paws Up program gives students opportunities to connect with the dogs through reading. This has been an extremely successful program and we are looking forward to starting again in 2023.
