Black Mountain Public School Transition Program

05th May 2026

Our transition students have had a great start to learning this term with their transition leader Mrs Sapphire Roller. Last week, students enjoyed choir with the K-2 students and then produced some wonderful animal habitats with play dough, enjoyed painting with watercolours and participated in literacy and numeracy activities.
At Black Mountain Public School, transition students learn through creative play and hands on learning activities, to prepare them for Kindergarten, the following year.
Each Friday transition students participate in activities with our K-2 Echidna’s class as well as other school activities such as assemblies and cultural events. The wellbeing and care of all our students is our highest priority. Ensuring a smooth transition to Kindergarten means a great start to school.
If you have a child who is four years of age or turning four and would like to know more about our transition program, please contact the school on 02 6775 0192 to speak to our experienced executive teachers and teaching team.
