16th Feb 2021

Preparations for the 2021 Guyra Show are well in hand and organisers are hoping the community will get behind the event.
Show Society President Richard Post said that they have planned some excellent family entertainment this year and he hopes the community will come and enjoy a great COVID safe, family-friendly event.
Over the two days there promises to be something happening for people of all ages, across all areas of the picturesque Guyra Showground.
Friday evening will see live music, entertainment, and Speed Shearing following the official opening at 7pm.
Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall will perform the official duties and will stay on to present the trophy for the men’s cake competition winner which will be announced at the bar at 8pm. Throughout the Show, the full bar and BBQ will operate as normal.
The headline attraction is the Aussie FMX motorbike stunt team who will be performing Saturday afternoon and evening. This will culminate with a huge fireworks display and the popular Demo Derby later on Saturday evening.
Whilst there will be some minor changes in the pavilion you can expect to see all the usual exhibits and competitions which will be running in full. In the ring there is a full program of horse events and the cattle program will operate as normal including the heifer show and bull Calcutta.
Junior sheep and cattle judging takes place on Friday and on Saturday you can see the wood chop and check out the poultry show. Yard dog trials take place on Saturday and will continue into Sunday.
Sideshow alley will be operating as normal with all the usual rides and attractions for the young and not so young. Kids can also get involved with the great lamb chase, which will take place on Saturday afternoon. The lolly cannon will provide some extra fun for the kids.
While everything will operate as close to normal as possible, the committee has a COVID safe plan in place and as you come through the gate you will need to check-in either by using the QR code or signing the registration sheet.
The action kicks off Friday morning and continues all day Saturday – see you there.
