Future bright for Class of 2019

11th Mar 2020

Guyra Central School students excelled with three students being placed on the NSW HSC Distinguished Achievers List in 2019. Madison Morgan made the list for Agriculture, while Savannah Roberts and Gemma Williams excelled in the Primary Industries Examination.
It should be noted that Mr Scott Miller taught all of these subjects and worked very closely with those students who achieved this great honour.  The school also had some great results across the board with all of the students performing at a level that has allowed them to pursue their preferred career path.
Five of the 2019 HSC cohort commenced university this week. Madison Morgan is studying Physiotherapy at Southern Cross University, Bronte Stanley is studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Newcastle, Gemma Williams is studying a Bachelor of Bio Medical Science, at UNE, while Ashleigh Richardson and Chloe White are both undertaking a Bachelor or Nursing, at UNE.
Alex Nitschke has landed a local Electrical Apprenticeship and is studying at TAFE as is Hannah Gordon. Hannah is completing a Diploma in Childcare at Armidale TAFE and is working at Armidale Childcare services. Savannah Roberts has followed her passion and is studying a Diploma of Dance in Brisbane.
Four students have decided to take a GAP year in 2020. Brayden Cameron (University 2021), Gemma Sisson (University 2021) Tara Wells (University 2021) Sarah Rosten (station work 2020 in Northern Australia) Taylor Brennan (Farm), Jack Radford (Retail) and Carly Harman (Armidale Courthouse) are all in full-time employment. Yuki Li is living in Sydney with her family and we were not able to make contact at the time of this publication.
