Essential Energy crews were quick to respond to an unplanned power outage which affected customers in Guyra on Monday afternoon.
Operations Manager Ranges, Paul McWilliam, said for the safety of the public and their property, the electricity network automatically switched power off to 1,360 homes and businesses at 3.04pm, after sensing a fault.
“Crews responded quickly and completed a patrol of the electricity network to check for damage,” Paul said.
After ensuring it was safe to do so, power was restored to all customers at 5.18pm.
Essential Energy believes a tree branch contacted the electricity network, causing the unplanned power outage.
“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their understanding as we worked as quickly as safety allowed to restore power,” Paul said.
