Walkers raise $2739 during October

03rd Nov 2020

Cheryl Garrett and Stella Engel are taking a well-earned rest after completing their ‘Feel the magic 1 in 20 challenge’. During the month of October, they walked a combined total of 270kms and raised $2349 to support children who are experiencing grief following the loss of a parent.
Twelve months ago Stella attended a camp run by ‘Feel the Magic’ which helped her cope with her own bereavement and shen wanted to help others in a similar situation. Raising money was a way of paying it forward so that other kids can also get help when they faced with a similar situation.
Cheryl and Stella would like to thank everyone who supported them and donated to this great cause. By taking part in the challenge they were able to not only raise money, but also raise awareness about the programs on offer.
As part of their fundraising they also held a line-dancing social which added $760 to their total. They would like to acknowledge the support of Armidale Regional Council who donated the use of the Community Hall for this event.
Feel the magic provide grief education and support to bereaved children and their families to help alleviate the pain and isolation felt by the loss of a parent, sibling or legal guardian. To find out more visit their website https://www.feelthemagic.org.au/
