Guyra Evening CWA was part of the 2023 NSW CWA Land Cookery Judges accreditation in Bathurst recently. Hosted by the NSW CWA Land Cookery Committee the weekend was an opportunity for members to try their hand at becoming a CWA Cookery Judge. This accreditation is regarded by many as the “holy grail” of baking achievements and requires years of commitment, exhibiting and stewarding to be awarded a CWA judges badge. Christine Gellie and Mary Hollingworth (State Secretary) are Committee members and were involved in organising the important annual event.
Fourteen members across NSW participated in the accreditation enjoying the comradery especially including local Christine Gellie. While Mary Hollingworth (CWA judge ) was honoured to be of the assessing judges team. Another Guyra Evening CWA member and former Glen Innes resident Rosie Arena has recently been elected to the State Cookery Committee joining Christine and Mary.
Guyra Evening Branch will be hosting a CWA awareness week evening on Friday September 1st 6pm at the Bowling Club. Guests are asked to dress in teal for a wonderful line up of speakers with stalls supper and much CWA friendship on the menu. The cost is $15 and bookings are a must online .Enquiries to Mary 0429 345 255
