Seasonal Farmer Update returns for third year

06th Oct 2026

Guyra farmers will have the opportunity to hear from a range of local agricultural and land management specialists when the Guyra Seasonal Farmer Update returns for its third year on Thursday, October 15th.
Hosted by the Guyra Landcare Network, the afternoon will focus on issues relevant to the current season and provide an opportunity for local producers to share information and discuss challenges affecting the region.
The event will be held at the Guyra Soldiers Memorial Hall from 12pm to 3.30pm, beginning with lunch followed by an interactive afternoon of discussions.
Guest speakers include Dr Leisa Brown from Guyra District Veterinary Services, who will discuss animal health, while Perry Newman from Northern Tablelands Local Land Services will provide an update on feral pig control.
Matt Foster from GrazAg will speak about pastures and agronomy, and Northern Tablelands Local Land Services’ Emily Hegarty will discuss the potential impact of cane toads and their incursion into the Northern Tablelands.
Jessira Saunders from Integrity Systems will provide information on NLIS and LPA requirements, while Lisa Tunks from Wildlife Health Australia will discuss H5N1 bird flu.
The update provides local farmers with the opportunity to hear directly from specialists and ask questions about issues affecting their properties and the wider agricultural community.
Lunch will be provided thanks to Nutrien Ag Solutions Guyra and prepared by the team at the Guyra Neighbourhood Centre.
Attendees will also have the chance to win lucky door prizes donated by Black Mountain Nursery and GrazAg.
The Guyra Seasonal Farmer Update is supported by Southern New England Landcare and is open to local farmers and members of the wider agricultural community.
