Thanks team IGA for a job well done

21st Sep 2021

Our staff at Kirk’s IGA
supermarket have soldiered on above and beyond the call of duty by keeping the store running smoothly during the lockdowns and Covid restrictions that we have experienced over the past 18 months.
Our junior staff deserve special mention. They were not able to go to school so they came into the store each and every day to help with the increased numbers of customers and also the cleaning regimes. High touch surfaces in the store had to be cleaned every hour and our junior staff carried out these tasks diligently.
All the while over the past 18 months, our staff were under heightened stress as the risk of the Covid virus coming to Guyra increased with cases in Armidale but they continued their work serving the people of Guyra.
Due to the increased volumes of stock required, our truck was full every load; even getting a Saturday delivery on some occasions. This means there were tons and tons of groceries to be stacked and packed each week. All this work was done by our hard working team.
Another big role was reassuring some concerned members of the public who had been at home each day alone watching the news reports and the Premier’s press conferences.
We extend our thanks to every member of our team for all their hard work to serve our community and ensure the safety of all our customers.
The Kirk Family

Editor’s note: We are sure that Guyra residents appreciate the efforts of the staff at Kirk’s IGA and indeed all the Guyra businesses who have kept trading during these long Covid restrictions.
