A sincere thank you to all who braved the elements to attend the 8th Annual Bridgewater Angus On-Property Bull Sale. The event saw strong demand from both local and interstate buyers, culminating in a top price of $30,000 for Bridgewater Goalkeeper U100.
The standout sire was purchased by the Hill family of Bulliac Angus, QLD. Ben Hill commented that they had been searching for a bull with a strong data set and standout phenotype.
“He had plenty of top, good body length, feet and legs, and moved well,” said Hill. “He also boasted impressive growth traits in the top 5%, with an eye muscle area of +15.2 (top 10%) and an exceptional $A-L of $470.”
Lynoch Pty Ltd, Armidale, was the volume buyer at the sale, securing six bulls to a top of $18,000. Local interest remained strong, with several bulls staying in the region. Ben Lomond’s Lockyer family made their first Bridgewater purchase, taking home three bulls.
Long-time supporters Denis and Jenni Wright of Ascot Park added two more bulls to their program. Matt and Marni Turner of Black Mountain and Wards Mistake Station each secured three Pineview Mogul sons.
Thanks go to our repeat buyers who once again supported our small operation here in the Guyra area, which we truly appreciate: Dalkeith Grazing, Javor Pty Ltd, Kranga Cattle Co, Alderberry Pastoral, 4 Holdings Pastoral, Wayne Heagney and Jamie Wright, Wongwibinda
Looking ahead, calving is now in full swing at Myola, with calves on the ground by sires Dunoon Sunstone, Hart Network, Poss Winchester, and Pineview Vezina — with progeny to be offered in our 2027 sale.
