Volunteers needed to help maintain grounds at Soldiers Memorial Hall

13th Oct 2026

The Guyra Soldiers’ Memorial Hall is one of the oldest continuous War Memorial Halls in Australia. These days it is a Crown Land Reserve property and managed by six local community members.
Located at 163 Bradley Street, it is most known for the crowded ANZAC Day ceremonies conducted each year. Remembrance Day is only one month away, and the Guyra RSL sub-Branch will be visible on that day, as they are for so many veterans and their families.
Currently we are seeking kind volunteers who may be able to assist us in keeping the grounds mown over the summer period. As soon as we get rain and a few warm days – Guyra lawns grow crazily. If you can help, please reach out to us.
What is maybe not so well known is that the general public is welcome to book the Hall for family gatherings, weddings, kids’ (big and small) birthdays, meetings, wakes, training sessions, exercise, meditation, music practice and other activities.
Of course, the Hall needs upkeep and the only way that can happen is if the users pay – but the costs are not excessive. The Hall has easy and safe entry for those less mobile; it has a well-equipped kitchen, trestle tables, comfy chairs, clean amenities, and other comforts.
