TroutFest nears

06th Sep 2022

The TroutFest program is nearing completion and the committee are very pleased with the range of events, displays and other activities that will make up the festival over the three days of October 7, 8 and 9th.
The chair said “We believe we have something for everyone in this year’s program from fishing to children’s activities to country music for the younger set to displays of interest to the men of the community.”
Register now for market stalls, the art and photography competition and the junior art competition. Photography is the feature category this year including a separate section for young photographers under 18 with a first and second prize. Entries close September 30.
Children have a separate art competition which was a huge success last year with some amazing artworks submitted. All schools have received a copy of the entry form but you can also pick one up at the Neighbourhood Centre next to Council.
This year we also have a writer’s section for children with the theme “If fish were a wish”. This was suggested by two Ben Lomond ladies to encourage young people to handwrite a story. We are looking forward to seeing the stories.
Entries close Thursday September 22 before school holidays begin and can be delivered to the Neighbourhood Centre Monday to Thursdays between 10am and 2pm.
