Film nights set to return

07th Jul 2020

The Australian Poetry Hall of Fame will host the launch of the new Guyra Film Society this Thursday July 9th starting at 6pm. Last week the Australian Poetry Hall of Fame in the Arcadian Theatre installed a screen and projector so that after 51 years we can once again enjoy watching films in Guyra.
A film society is the most affordable way to purchase film rights. Members of the film society pay an annual membership fee which entitles them to see monthly movies which are selected by the members of the film society.
The inaugural meeting and formation of the New Guyra Film Society will ratify the constitution and elect office bearers including, chairperson, secretary, and treasurer. This will be followed by a selection of award-winning short films.
The Saturday Guyra Farmers and Craft Market is growing and last week had seven stallholders and beautiful music played by Otto from Timor.
6:30 Wednesday Words Open Mic Poetry Night continues, Friday Family Funklub 6 pm Drumming Circle, bring your drums and 8 pm Hip Hop Cypher night, so if you have the rhymes we have the rhythms and backing tracks for you to perform.
