Great support for fishing day

01st Feb 2022

Guyra Anglers Club’s Gone Fishing Day, held on Sunday, January 30th was a highly successful, entertaining, and engaging day with close to 200 attendees showing and growing their love of fishing. We thank everyone for coming and enjoying the day. OzFish Unlimited Northern Tablelands Chapter supported the day, delivering a fishing clinic and providing information and support to the anglers present.
NSW DPI provided the fishing rod set ups, and hooks, jig heads which workshop participants got to use and take home. CWP renewables provided sponsorship that helped the winners of the fishing challenges receive some fantastic prizes including rod and reel packages, encouragement awards, which bought some great smiles to the recipients faces.
The eradication of Redfin from Malpas took a great step forward with over 3800 fish landed, with these going to become fertiliser at Deano’s trout farm.
We wish to say thankyou to the following people for helping make the day so amazingly fulfilling: Greenlands Pastoral Company, Dasha’s Hardware, Campbell’s Butchery, OzFish Unlimited Northern Tablelands Chapter, NSW DPI Gone Fishing Day, CWP Renewables, BCF Armidale, Guyra Bakery, Khammo, Guyra Hotel, Deano’s Springwater Smoked Trout, and the best Committee of volunteers that any club could have.
We would also like to let our members know that our next two meetings are on Tuesday February 15th at Guyra Hotel 6pm, and our AGM and presentation day on Sunday March 6th at 11am. We welcome members to join us at any of our meetings. Keep an eye on our Facebook page – Guyra Anglers Club and if you have any questions, please call our President Grant on 0429856769.
