Guyra cyclists riding 500kms to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service
A team of 11 cyclists, with two support crew, are in training for the ‘Ride For The Chopper’ a 500km ride from Dubbo to Tamworth. The ride starts on September 10th and will take place over 6 days raising money for our much-needed Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS).
The WHRS is on call for our community 24/7, 365 days a year. It costs approximately $40 million per year to keep the helicopters and crews ready to respond when needed. This is a life-saving service that anyone of us could need at anytime so we are asking for your support to help us raise as much as we can.
Donations can be made through Facebook or by simply google searching any team members name followed by Westpac Rescue Helicopter where you can donate to the team or an individual.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to donate with cash you can call at the Guyra Bakery and leave your donation with Leanne Mayled - if you require a receipt please ask.
A fundraiser night will be held at the Royal Hotel on July 23rd - further details will be advertised.
Our dedicated team members are : Leanne Mayled, Mick Mayled, Garry Mayled, Jodi Mayled (Inverell), Donna Mayled, Michael Kirk, Wayne Jenkyn, John Newsome (Deepwater), Jeni Hinkley, Paul Hinkley, Dave Mills, Jenni Jackson, Pip White.
